Sparkling Snowstorm Nails

Published November 21, 2016 by beginnersnailart

Hi everyone, this week I’ve done a sparkly, abstract snowstorm look. I always love snowflake nail art but find it hard to do myself, but I was really please with how this one turned out.For this design you’ll need a black polish, a frosty blue, frosty white, silver glitter, makeup sponge, and two different sized dotting tools.I’ve used Technic’s Jet Black, Turkish Sea, Angel Gown, and Stardust. The dotting tool I used is double ended with two different sizes.

Step 1: once your base coat dries, paint your nails with two coats of black polish and let it dry.
Step 2: sponge a little of your frosty blue over the black.
Step 3: with your bigger dotting tool, place two to four dots on each nail.
Step 4: fill in the rest of your nail with smaller dots.

Step 5: (excuse the lack of picture, stupid me forgot to take one) use your dotting tools to place some silver glitter polish over all the dots.

Step 6: clean up around your nails, apply topcoat, and you’re done!

I really hope you liked this easy, alternative take on snowstorm/snowflake nails.

Winter DotticureĀ

Published November 8, 2016 by beginnersnailart

Hi everyone, this week I’ve got a dark, wintery and sparkly dotticure to share. It’s a perfect (and easy) night out look, but won’t look out of place during the day either. For the design you’ll need a black polish for your base, a pale blue, silver, darker blue (but not too dark), a silver glitter polish, and two dotting tools (small and medium). Here I’ve used Technic’s Jet Black, Mr Blue Sky, Gun Metal, Stardust, and Cornflower.
Step 1: once your base coat dries, apply two thin layers of your black polish and let it dry.
Step 2: starting with your pale blue polish, place some dots with your two dotting tools on the bottom two thirds of your nail. Concentrate them at the cuticle so it resembles a gradient, but don’t add too many.
Step 3: repeat this with your silver polish.
Step 4: add some silver glitter polish over the silver dots.
Step 5: repeat step 2 with your darker blue polish.
Step 6: clean up around your nails, apply topcoat, and you’re done!

I really hope you liked this design and give it a go too,
