Easy Christmas Tree Nails

Published December 5, 2016 by beginnersnailart

Hi everyone. This week my Christmas tree is going up, so I thought I needed matching nails to go with it!All you’ll need to try them out yourself is a gold (or silver) base colour, a pearly dark green, a pearly red, striping tape (or masking tape), and two dotting tools (small and medium).I’ve used Technic’s Seashell, Zephyr, Sea Foam, and Rococco. I mixed Zephyr and Sea Foam to get my tree colour as one was a little light and the other too dark.

Step 1: apply two thin coats of your base colour and let it dry completely.
Step 2: use your green polish and small dotting tool to mark out the points of your trees so they aren’t crooked.

Step 3: place tape on your nails like this, matching up with the dots you placed.
Step 4: add a few green dots in each triangle with your medium dotting tool.
Step 5: fill in the rest with small green dots.
Step 6: add a few red dots on each side with your small dotting tool for baubles.
Step 7: carefully remove the tape from your nails for sharp lines.
Step 8: clean up around your nails, add topcoat, and you’re done!

I really hope you liked this design, and try it out with colours to match your own tree 🙂

Christmas Tree Nails

Published December 15, 2014 by beginnersnailart

Hi everyone, the Christmas nails are here! I’m really happy with how they turned out. The list of what you need and the steps seem a lot, but they didn’t take as long as I thought they would have.

IMG_4484.JPGFor this design you’ll need a pearly red, white, forest/bottle green, a red glitter, multi-coloured glitter, a large and a small dotting tool, masking tape, and a makeup sponge.

IMG_4468.JPGI’ve used White, Sundance, Sea Foam, Carnival and Christmas Cracker (very appropriate), all from Technic.

IMG_4469.JPGStep 1: once your base coat dries, paint your thumb and pinky red and the other three nails white then let them fully dry.

IMG_4471.JPGStep 2: place two strips of masking tape over your middle nail like this.

IMG_4472.JPGStep 3: sponge on your dark green polish and remove the tape straight away.

IMG_4474.JPGStep 4: apply a layer of your multi-coloured glitter over the green (you can put fresh tape on to stop any getting on the white polish).

IMG_4475.JPGStep 5: dip your large dotting tool in your red and place a dot at the top of your tree.

IMG_4485.JPGStep 6: on the other white nails place a few spaced out large, red dots. Use your small dotting tool (or toothpick) and paint a T shape on top of each dot so they look like tree baubles.

IMG_4480.JPGStep 7: apply a layer of your red glitter over your red nails (I also went back and put a little red glitter on my baubles and the dot on top of my tree).

IMG_4484-0.JPGStep 8: once everything is dry clean up around your nails, apply your topcoat and your done!

I really hope you liked this Christmassy design and I’ll have another next week! Thank you for reading.
