Cozy Sweater Nails

Published November 14, 2016 by beginnersnailart

Hi everyone. This is a design I’ve seen all over Instagram since last year, but it’s always been done in 3D with gel or acrylic. I’ve used ordinary polish, and used a little white polish to make the pattern stand out. It may not be 3D, but it still looks the part! All I used was a nude polish, a white polish, and a small dotting tool (a toothpick would work great too). The polishes I used were Technic’s Chocolate Milkshake and White.

Step 1: paint your nails with two coats of nude polish and let it dry.

Step 2: mix together 2-3 drops of nude and 2 drops of white polish, just enough that the nude polish ends up slightly lighter than what it started off.

Step 3: take your dotting too and place a small, diagonal line in the middle of your nail, just above the cuticle.
Step 4: add a couple of small, vertical lines like this.
Step 5: repeat this until you reach the tip of your nail, then add some little dashes down each side of the squiggles.
Step 6: add some diagonal lines on each side of your nail like this.
Step 7: repeat for each nail and they should end up something like this.
Step 8: clean up around your nails, add topcoat, and you’re done!
I really hope you liked this cozy, winter design, and give it a go with your favourite nude polish.
