Jack-O-Lantern Nails

Published October 5, 2015 by beginnersnailart

Hi everyone. It’s October already, which means it’s spooky season! Today’s post is the first of a few Halloween themed designs. The best part of this design is that it doesn’t have to be perfect, so don’t worry if you don’t have a steady hand, crooked smiles look better!

It’s really easy to do and all you need is an Orange polish, a matching glitter polish (optional), a black polish, and a very small dotting tool or toothpick.

I’ve used Technic’s Sunset Strip, Kool Kiki, and Jet Black.

Step 1: paint your nails with two coats of your orange polish.
Step 2 (optional): apply one layer of your glitter polish and let it dry before moving on.
Step 3: with your dotting tool and black polish, paint two horizontal triangles at the base of each nail for the eyes.
Step 4: paint an upside down triangle beneath the eyes for the nose.
Step 5: draw a jagged, curved line under each nose to create the mouth and let the black polish dry for 10 to 15 minutes so it doesn’t smudge.
Step 6: clean up around your nails, apply topcoat, and you’re done!

I really hope you liked this Halloween themed design, I can’t wait to try out the next one!

Thanks for looking, Kirsteen x
