Earthquake Nails

Published July 8, 2013 by beginnersnailart

Hi everyone. This design was inspired by a design on Wah Nails’ Instagram. All you need is a bright coloured polish of your choice, a gold or silver polish and matching glitter polish and a black nail art pen. If you have silver or gold polish with glitter in it you can use this to save time. If you don’t have a nail art pen you can use a toothpick dipped in black polish. Here I used Accessorize’s Mermaid, Collection 2000’s Hot Looks in All That Jazz, Nails Inc’s Maida Vale and a Barry M nail art pen in black.

20130708-203019.jpgStep 1: once your base coat has dried, apply two coats of your coloured polish to one half of your nails and two coats of your silver/gold to the other half.

20130708-203342.jpgStep 2: once the polish has dried apply a coat of glitter to your silver/gold polish. If your silver/gold has glitter in it you can skip this step. Let your nails fully dry before moving on.

20130708-203917.jpgStep 3: using your nail art pen (or toothpick and black polish) draw some lines across the middle of your nails.

20130708-204253.jpgStep 4: fill in more lines, making some shorter and longer just so you can’t see the join between the two polishes.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial, thanks for looking, Kirsteen.
